It’s been over a year since my journey with the amazing Lono Wild started and so I felt compelled to write another post about this amazing model because quite frankly, without it my travels wouldn’t have been so smooth and even memorable. Honestly, Lono Wild is the absolute best when it comes to all things travel, comfort, and even style and fashion. I love how Lono Wild has carried me through the year effortlessly and with elegance. Let’s go for a ride, this is Time Capsule with Lono WILD!
First steps
Sri Lanka
First steps were divine and took me to Sri Lanka where we enjoyed city exploration and beach holidaying. Lono Wild stood the heat and humidity test perfectly. They were even submerged in the ocean. You can read all about it here.
Jeju
Next we took Lono Wild to Jeju island where we had lots fun exploring both natural wonders and cultural landscape. But we fell in love predominantly with the Museum of Sex and Health where we both got severely distracted and perplexed from all the stimuli.

Japan – Naha
Lono WILD was also our companion on our trip to Tokashiki which went quite wrong but Naha saved day. In our post we talk about the amazing combo of slow mode relaxation in a hot and humid Naha with Lono Wild by my side for long strolls across the city.
And how did Lono Wild perform after that?
We took it to multiple other locations such as Bangkok where Lono Wild was absolutely indispensable in tackling the long hours of walking in the scorching heat. And because Lono Wild and I continued to thrive in multiple locations we’ll now give you a proper sneak peak. Before let me make a statement though.
Lono Wild continues to be the one and only choice for my travels long or short and has been indeed the best travel shoe for me. EVER. I know I have said this multiple times. But this must be repeated endlessly.
What I appreciate most is that
it still looks as new, despite all the challenges it faced. Of course, some TLC is recommended, which I’ll describe below.

Lono Wild conquers many terrains

We appreciated Lono Wild’s solid build in the heat of August Bangkok and then took Lono Wild on a road trip to Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. For long drives or flights between destinations, we were hooked by the softness and something I would describe as a
shoeless sensation.
This is what I find really impressive.
While Lono Wild is a sturdy outdoor model, it almost feels like you are not wearing anything. On flights or drives when your feet and legs tend to be motionless for a long time, Lono Wild are the silent companion that will ensure that your feet get all the comfort they need and once the journey ends you can immediately switch to a full active mode.

Lono Wild for outdoor and city exploration
At this stage, I am sure that Lono Wild can handle any terrain. Mountains, beaches, forests, cities, stone or wooden surfaces. It’ll take you anywhere you need with effortless grace and comfort. Besides travel, Lono Wild is absolutely great for evening strolls around towns or cities. They certainly came in handy when we wanted to get through the busy Chiang Rai’s markets.

And they were absolutely incredible on my trip to Kanazawa in April 2026. It was a slow travel trip with lots of city exploration. Every day I walked between 5 and 8km across the whole city and Lono WILD was absolutely the best companion I could have chosen. By this point I had so much trust in Lono WILD that
they were the only pair of shoes I took with me for that trip. No back-up necessary.

Recently I have been introducing colours into my life, and wardrobe, and I am so grateful I decided for the mustard model. While black is my go-to for colour for travel, my mustard model livens up practically any outfit immediately. From black to mixed colours, it really does elevate my outfit tremendously.

The truth is that anywhere I went I got plenty of curious looks. Sadly, I wasn’t the subject of the beholder’s eye.
Lono Wild was!
Locals and tourists alike were eyeing my feet and the superb shoe wear anywhere I went.
But in Kanazawa in April, I got even questions from tourists.
‘Where did you get these?’, people would ask.
The level of satisfaction it gave me when I showed them my articles from Sri Lanka and Jeju as we were queuing to get into a samurai’s residence was indescribable.

How to care for Lono Wild
Okay. Lono and Ben did produce an impeccable model. Yay!!! We already know that. It is so great that I start feeling strange for all the superlatives I’ve been spreading. Though they are perfectly justified. However, as with everything, if you want your Lono Wild to hold, you need to return the love and care, so that Lono Wild can continue serving you and your day-to-day needs.
So what do I do to keep LONO Wild healthy and vibrant?
Of course, occasional wet wiping – mind you, very gentle! – is a no-brainer. Then drying it in the sun and finally spraying it to give it a protective shield that will help deal with all the humidity, heat, sweat and difficult conditions.
And voila! Lono Wild is like new.
For spraying I use this product. It’s an excellent spray that gives Lono Wild all the juicy vitamins to nourish it. You should be able to find it in shoe shops or the Barefoot Asia store.
That’s it guys.
Far and wide, Lono Wild makes my stride, it’s been an unforgettable ride.
This shoe is the best model I’ve ever worn and I only hope that Lono Wild mustard will continue featuring in Lono Wild series and in Lono product lines in general. Once you develop such an addiction to a shoe model, the last thing you’d want is for it to be discontinued.
